The Divine Mentor

geese-2436697_960_720.jpg

When you shift in consciousness you begin to realize how attached you have been.  When you become free of the body and you begin to experience that the body exists in you and that you’re not the body, that’s a freedom experience.  When you realize that you’re not the emotional or the mental patterns inside of you, you begin to feel the freedom to act in and through a pattern or change it.  So that’s the kind of freedom we need.

You can well realize when we are entrenched in these thoughts and emotions and physicality how difficult it is to become detached or disengaged from it.  We become caught up in the momentum of it, carried away by its energy.  We see it every day driven by the primal drives, driven by emotional or mental patterns of the past.

So to become free of that we need some kind of guidance, we need some kind of hand holding, we need some kind of mentoring, some kind of coaching on the journey.  And the universe provides that.  That which guides us back into that state of liberation is called Guru.  Gu in the Sanskrit stands for “darkness” and ru for that which removes darkness, the light.  So Guru is not a person.  We tend to think of Guru as a person.  Guru is not man or woman or person.  Guru is a principle operating in and through that being.  When that is operating you can actually feel that the Divine is guiding you, not the person, that the Divine through the person is guiding you to itself. And we see that the gu also stands for the maya, the illusion – and the ru for that which removes the illusion. Sri Vasudeva

Be Like a Flower

64K8SI9V3U.jpg
We’re all striving to create a better world and one of the best ways of doing it is simply the way a beautiful flower influences its environment. Why are you drawn to a little flower in a garden? You’re attracted to its fragrance and its beauty. A flower doesn’t say anything to you directly, yet it draws everyone to its beauty and it can transform its environment. Its mere presence changes the environment. If you take the lesson of a simple flower, you can see how you too can be a positive influence on your environment simply without saying anything. Sometimes too much speech is unnecessary, because after a while, people don’t hear it anymore. They automatically tune out. Through the fragrance and the beauty of your divine Self, can you influence the environment in a very positive way? Sri Vasudeva

Flowers teach us the charm of silence and selfless giving which demands nothing in return.

True Masters are Instruments of the Light

The Guides who are ordained by the Divine are the ones who can lead us back home. They carry an incredible power, when they come into a space, even without a word, they begin to influence the space. What is this power that they carry, this electricity, this magnetism that extends in the space, creating waves, this power of presence? They need not say anything, they do not even have to make an announcement of who they are, but the moment they enter the space their presence is felt. What is this power that they carry that even when we think of them and bring them to mind we feel their vibration and we feel a lift in the space?

What is this incredible power they carry? It is the power of staying completely connected to the Divine such that they become pure instruments. The power they carry is that through every word they utter, through every look or glance, through every benevolent thought towards the Universe, through every touch they bring the energy of the Divine. They bring the Light into the darkness.                                                                                Excerpt from a talk by Sri Vasudeva for more go to  www. blue-star.org

Anything in this Universe can teach you, from a bird, an ant, to a Divine being. Do not let any escape your glance.

Meditation on the Guru Principle

2s6x8d.jpgIn our meditation today, let us give attention to that marvellous power that lies at the centre of the eyebrow. Breathe into it and breathe out from it. And begin to honour the Guru principle, that power we see alive in the Masters; that incredible power of wisdom, of detachment, of unity with the Divine, of being the instrument. Centre yourself in that Guru tattva, bowing to all Masters, and to the Supreme Master within you. That is where the power is to wake up from the dream fully.

If you want to invoke the mantra of the Guru, the eternal Guru, the cosmic Guru; Om Guru Om Guru Om Guru Om. ‘Gu‘ stands for darkness, and ‘Ru‘ for the light. ‘Gu‘ is the darkness of ignorance, and ‘Ru‘ is the light of Divine Consciousness. And hold that focus.

If you can feel the stirrings of the energy, then let it bring you into a space where you can become one with the Guru Power. Allow it to come into your space. Observe what happens to the mind when you are centered there. The mind has the tendency to come into quietness – manas gets a chance to rest. Honour the silence there, and the goal would be to surrender to the wisdom, to the power, to the presence that emerges in the space.

Bring all of you to the brow

Bring all of you to the brow, so the centre of the perineum should be connected to the brow, the sacral area connected to the brow, navel area connected to the brow, heart area connected to the brow, throat area connected to the brow. So you breathe from the root right up to the brow, and from the brow right down to the root. And this is how you get every chakra connecting to the brow, serving the brow. So this is where you make your true Guru offering, with every level of your being.

I honour you, O Cosmic Guru, O Guru tattva, with every level of my being; with my body, with my vitality, with my heart, with my silence. I bow to you completely, within me.

So all the prāṇas are given to the Guru. The mind and senses become absorbed in Guru. This is meditation in Guru.

Guru Gita says, “mokṣa-mūlaṁ guroḥ kṛpā.” When you get the blessing of the brow chakra, guroḥ kṛpā, the blessing of the Guru tattva, the freedom will come.

Let the Guru manifest in the entire being

And now let us bring the Guru to the heart. Let us fill the heart with the love that comes from the Guru tattva; Guru manifesting as love in the heart, Guru manifesting as vitality in the gut, the energy that courses through the physical body, the Guru power through the body, and Guru energy manifesting in the space around, through the root into the space around. Let us fill the space with Guru tattva. Let the Guru power unite us all.

Om Guru Om Guru Om Guru Om.

The liberating power in the Māyā – the Guru tattva, the Guru Shakti.

May we be protected together, Guru tattva and disciple; Om saha nāvavatu.

May we be nourished together; Om saha nau bhunaktu.

May we be strengthened together; Saha vīryaṁ karavāvahai.

May our knowledge be full of light; Tejasvi nāvadhītam astu.

And may we always remain in unity, despite our diversity; Mā vidviṣāvahai

Om Shanti, Shanti, Shanti.

Peace, Peace, Peace.
