Thoughts tell a story

I liked that Guru described two sets of thoughts that come up in the mind during meditation. The random thoughts which are fairly easy to manage and the persistent ones which tell a story about our lives. He asked, ” Are these thoughts based on fear, anxiety, impatience? Are these thoughts based on attachment, on lack of forgiveness? Are these thoughts based on vengeance, hate? Are these thoughts based on disease in the body? What are these thoughts based on? If these thoughts are telling us a story, then it is important to understand the story.”

He goes on, ” When you go within and these thoughts arise within you that disturb you, observe carefully. Is it a call from your soul to manifest a higher quality within you? Is it a call to manifest forgiveness? Is it a call to manifest charity? Is it a call to manifest understanding, patience, kindness, compassion? Is it a call from your soul to manifest these qualities, and you are resisting that call? Right there, the answers are. You seek out complex answers, and you seek out those who will tell you what you want to hear, but are you ready for the truth?”

For me these were powerful words! How about for you, what called to you in the message?
